Cool things seen on FlightRadar

It's not flying at the moment but HB-SIB (usually SOLAR2) is continuing its circumnavigation of the globe on solar power. Currently in Tulsa.

Not really but it is remarkable that the B57 was originally designed by the same chap as the Lysander (broadly speaking, I'm sure others were involved too).Anyone else want to play?
I watch loads of stuff on FR24.
A couple of cool planes up over the last couple of days in the UK, N147DC, a Hawk belonging to QinetiQ over Sailsbury today, a nice DeHavilland yesterday but I've forgotten the tail number.
There were 2 7700's of 2 different Reconnaissance Ventures planes in the last 24hrs, G-SOUL yesterday and G-BODY today.
One of my favourite paint jobs, LZ-ABR which is an occasional visitor to the UK.
I have a thing for Antonov's too, at least one AN12 usually comes and goes from the UK daily.
I also like watching the Dassault Falcon 20-5B's flying round the UK, I believe towing targets for fighter practice/training etc. There are 3 off the South West coast right now.
So yes, quite a few cool things, and I am quite a geek clearly!

You often see a Hawk and an Alpha Jet operating from Boscombe Down. I always thought it was the empire test pilots school there. If you like that type of thing check out www.360radar.co.uk, coverage is growing by the day and it only covers the UK but shows most of the military aircraft that are airborne.

You're right, but they are owned by QinetiQ I believe, but I'm not expert by any means.I can't get that last link in the thread to work, did you post it right? I'd love to be able to see the military stuff and the registrations of private jets that are blocked on FR24Pro.

Hi Robby, do you feed to FR24 and If you have a receiver do you see and have access to other feeders data that show aircraft not on FR24 like the police or military stuff? I've always wondered about getting a receiver but thought FR24 is so good now and I live in a well covered area so I wasn't sure of the point.
I like a bit of flightradar geekery. I live a few miles from Heathrow and often check it out if something interesting happens, like a go-around (very obvious to me because I am not on any usual take-off flight path, so if I hear something roar overhead on full afterburners I know something is up).
One recent oddity was a something big passing overhead on a weird approach path. I had a look on FR24 and it turned out to be a Virgin 747 flying from Gatwick to Heathrow. Shortest 747 flight ever? I guess they need to reposition their fleet sometimes.

Spent the day in my garden yesterday (Wiltshire, on the edge of Salisbury Plain), lots of interesting and very loud noises up high, nothing like the usual Hercs, A400M and Globemaster. Flightradar came up blank as usual, will catch something interesting on there one day!
