An Osprey!

An Osprey just flew (quite low) over my house, first time I've seen one in the flesh. Quite unmistakeable, aren't they? Anyway, should be seeing more of them, as they're now based at Mildenhall, just up the road. Sorry no pics, didn't have camera/phone/ipod with me.

I just love the 'tween wars Hawker Hart series, they're just so-o-o-o pretty.

But the CV22 thingy is just a bit nice too.

Nah, they're common as muck around here

I saw one low over the A11 near the battle area between Thetford and Snetterton a couple of weeks ago, it was really quite low and caused a fair few people in front of me to brake. Not sure whether they were just having a good old snout though!

They were here a couple of years ago too, presumably as a test or something before they moved in proper.

Something odd sounding was rattling my windows in west Cambs last night, thought it was a Chinook at first but it was higher pitched than that.

I've flown in Ospreys quite a few times whilst "overseas" and they are unlike any other helo or fixed wing aircraft I've been in. Not sure the accident record is that good but what a piece of kit and certainly quick when in forward flight.

I was under the impression the accident record was outstandingly high.

They are quite cool though.
