Sintra air museum/base in Portugal

Is it worth a visit?
Just got back from a trip to Portugal, and on trip to Sintra I heard some planes overhead and it was 6 prop trainers in tight formation, and then i could just see the airport from the Moorish castle. Got back to the hotel and found out that Sintra is an air force training base, and that it has a museum.
We plan to go back some time, and I wondered if the museum was worth a detour. (I imagine that in Sept it's not packed full of visitors?)
