Hi guys, apologies in advance for the non-plane spotter type language I'm about to use.

Just had 2 jets fly low over my house (common occurrence in this valley, usually tornado's) and I'm having trouble identifying them.

They were a swept wing aircraft with the wings pulled out which made me think it was the usual biggles' day out for a jolly but the 2 aircraft had 2 rear vertical rudders (I have no idea of the proper terminology) instead of the usual tornado 1. They looked like F14's but I was under the impression they were only being flown by the Iranian airforce now.

Is Iran invading or am I missing what the aircraft actually was?

Where are you?

If it's Israel, I'd head into a basement.

Two vertical stabilisers would suggest F-15.

40 miles north of Inverness, I don't think I should hop in the bunker just yet.

And looking at it, they may have been f18/f15's and I just got the swept wing part wrong.

in your first post, did you mean swept wing or swing wing?

I meant the wings looked like they could be positioned forwards for top gun flightyness or backwards for getting places rather quick.

Looks like it was an F15 and I was just mistaken on the wings,
