Electrification of Liverpool - Manchester Railway
Discussion
The Liverpool to Manchester railway runs right along the M602 (West-East spur off the M60, taking you to Salford & Manchester) as it approaches Manchester.
Going along the M602 the other day (first time for several months), I noticed that the railway has electric power lines overhead, which I didn't think I'd ever noticed before.
So I had a butchers on StreetGoogle, and sure enough, there weren't any electrical lines when those photos were taken, so obviously the power lines have been installed fairly recently.
Do any of you guys happen to know anything about when the installation was carried out, and how long it took?
Cheers, Tony.
