I feel rather guilty as I persuaded a friend to buy a sailing yacht on eBay over Christmas. Funnily enough it turns out that the engine is knackered (the rest of the boat is merely distressed). It was running a Detroit engine which has since been removed and a reconditioned Perkins has been delivered.

Just to make life a little bit more complicated, this is all happening in Mallorca. The engineer who was working on it has decided to chase some tourist money now the season has started up in earnest and my mate needs someone to go out to Mallorca and get this new engine fitted. He is a bit fed up with the whole mañana thing and is willing to pay properly to get it sorted properly and soon.

Can anyone recommend an engineer out in Mallorca or one here who is happy to travel out for a week in the sun?

Better to find an engineer out there - but can be hard to find one who can resist the urge to fleece.

mickrick may be able to help - or will certainly know someone... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem...
