Unfortunately its the same weekend as Le Mans being 22nd June but theres an airshow at Manston again and the Vulcan will be appearing. More info at http://www.heritage-events.co.uk/South%20East%20Ai...

I can't go as I will be at Le Mans but hopefully the show will be good for the airport. Not sure why I care about the future of Manston but I do, and of course it does have scheduled flights these days, albeit not many!

Yep off to that as its just down the road (well 1/2 hour) and maybe the last chance to see the Vulcan before she goes into retirment.

I think she is good to go until 2014 ,assuming enough money is about to fuel her !

A Thomson 787 was training there last week.

There is a list of suitable airfields for circuit training and they get decided on the day depending on the weather. 787s have been training around the UK the last couple of weeks at places like Newquay, Prestwick and Manston. Generally quiet airports with long runways.

I believe the 787 will be based at Manston during its crew training. At least that's what I told last time I had a discussion about it.
