Ok, so she's hardly going to trouble the superyacht thread but she came along at a price I couldn't ignore and will make a nice project over the Winter.

She's a Juno 560 with a lift-keel and looks a little bit sad, having sat out the water under trees for the last year. All cosmetic though and the hull is in great condition and all sails and hardware are intact and in good order.

I suspect that a little elbow grease and a polish should see her in great form and ready for the upcoming season.

Excited isn't the word smile

Congrats! Can we see the pics??

If you have the time, would be great to see a restoration/cleanup thread to follow your progress

Ok, here is a shabby looking photo of her:

First order of business is to get some air in the trailer tyres, wheel her out to the work area and run a pressure wash over her to take off the muck. Then the interior. After that, a polish, some varnish on the wood and some anti-foul should see the hull shipshape.

Then we'll rig her and have a wee potter about to see what needs replacing, line-wise and go from there.

Fortunately, the chap who's come into this with me is a very experienced sailor so I'll be following his lead for much of the work (stripping the outboard if needed, etc).

I'm halfway through my dayskip so looking forward to this making getting a few more hours at the helm before the practical part a lot easier!

Laugh. It's staying in Loch Lomond so will keep the thread updated as work progresses. Current aim is to get it ready for a New year sail (assuming a nice, crisp Winter day!)...

He was planning on a voyage around your lake, but sadly he doesn't have the necessary navigation skills and only has 10 days holiday left to take.

At least you have the right username.

Only kidding! biglaugh

She's quite pretty in fact. Good luck with her.

I bought a similar project 7 years ago......

I wish you fair winds, deep water, and bow legged women! wink

Cheers! thumbup

The irony of the username hasn't escaped me but I'm hoping life won't imitate art...

Also trying to work out whether the tiny berths are actually long enough for the odd overnight stop or whether it'll be hell.

You see, you have had it only a day and are already contemplating a bigger one biggrin

hehe this is how it starts, right?

As far as I can see, there's a sort of double berth in the bow which looks a bit tight for a six-footer and two side-berths further back. They're definitely too short but you may be able to run your legs aft, below the cockpit...I'm not sure.

Anyway, the possibility of sleeping aboard would be a great bonus, if anyone knows these boats? Otherwise a tent or B&B will do smile
