Security at some third woprld airports is non-existant. People can often wander out of the bush directly onto the runways. The airports have no security febcing of any sort.
I went to Cottesmore for the last Harrier flights. I know there was a man with a gun walking his dog, but he said they normally didn't have the gun or dog and the fence was more than easy to climb over/through etc which did surprise me!Security at some third woprld airports is non-existant. Not likely. There are a few people who have climbed Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, but even Mt Everest is only just over 29,000 ft and that flight was likely cruising in the mid 30s, if not close to 38 or 40,000 ft. Here is an interesting table. Just look at the difference in time of useful consciousness between 28,000 ft and 30,000 ft and 35,000 ft.

Time of useful consciousness at the cruising altitude of commercial jets is measured in seconds. Anyone in an unpressurised part of the aeroplane would succumb to hypoxia long before top-of-climb. The problem is low partial-pressure of oxygen in the air at those altitudes, as opposed to 'too little' oxygen. The gas pressure is too low for the lungs to operate efficiently, which is why flight crew pressure-breath oxygen to 'force' it into the respiratory system if the cabin pressure drops. Just having a mask of 100% O2 at ambient pressure wouldn't work.

This is pretty much what I expected. No chance, on a long haul flight anyway. I guess it takes a lot less useful consciousness to climb a mountain or curl up in a ball in a wheel-well than it does pilot an airliner but I don't think the table posted above takes acclimatisation into consideration. AIUI 25% of people are genetically predisposed to handle low pressure noticeably better than the other 75% so I still have an inkling that a Sherpa with good genes in Himalayan climbing kit might last an hour or two on a short haul, albeit possibly unconscious in flight.
