Anyone fancy a free yacht?

It would cost bargeloads of fifty pound notes to get it into a seaworthy condition, and even then good ones are only worth about £12,000 ( http://www.theyachtmarket.com/boats_for_sale/18245... ) so you wouldn't get your money back. Lost cause I am afraid.
Thinking about it, I wonder if you could make it seaworthy for not much money?
Joshua Slocum built a similar sized boat out of an old wreck and a tree, with just an axe and an adze, and sailed it single-handed around the world.
If you forgot about expensive modern kit from chandleries, you could pay the seams with bits of old rope and tar, fashion a mast and spars out of an old telegraph pole, fill the bilges with stones for ballast, make new sails by sewing together old ones, use ordinary rope for the standing and running rigging, use deadeyes instead of modern shroud tensioners, a steering oar instead of a rudder. Would be an interesting project.
