Cross Country and wifi
Discussion
Hi train geeks and those in the business.
Have they got this sorted yet? Know they've been fined twice by regulator for missing service deadlines on this. Finally supposed to be rolled out 2012. Nov 2011 just testing one set.
Anybody know the status of this 1st class on the Aberdeen to Penzance service. It's a mixture of Voyagers and HST aiui.

I use cross country from Birmingham and from Cheltenham.
I use them weekly, no sign of wifi, come to that their trains have no sign of a cleaner, no sign of padding in the seats and no sign of legroom suitable for those over 5ft 9in.
Also no sign of first class prices being a match with Virgin

I'm not a train person of any sort (I actually do not like travelling in them too much to be honest) but I have many a times gone in first class. Virgin train London to Manchester I remember working fine (unless that was my iPhone hotspot), however between London and the Midlands on East Coast its rubbish at best - and between London and Edinburgh its just a waste of ink them printing the instructions on how to use it.
I use East Coast pretty regularly from Peterborough to London and find that WiFi works well until you get to the stretch between Stevenage and Kings Cross
I've also travelled on East Coast from Glasgow back to Peterborough and had a connection pretty much all the way - this was when they were using Satellite though, not sure if the move to 3G has made it less reliable
