C17 used for holiday flight

My brother in law is a New Zealander who regards himself as a bit of a Bear Grylls type character. Anyway he decided it might be fun to spend Xmas in Antarctica and this is the plane that took him there.



And this is him and his mates having Xmas dinner having carved a table and chairs out of the ice



He also visited Scott base and McMurdo whilst he was there

I stopped at the us forward base near Christchurch a few years back. Guess that's where he went from. would love to do that, what's the gig? NZ version of BAS?

Not sure but he does this kind of stuff all the time. I will will try and find out. He tried to swim the Cook Strait last year but got beaten back by bad weather

The antarctic is on my to-do list at some point.

Would you please be so kind as to get some info off him as to how he did it, the costs involved and what agent (if indeed there was one) he used.
