Me too and now i cant get it out of my head I tried something similar when on holiday in Turkey in 1993
The steering was by foot pedal that worked in the wrong sense (eg left foot to turn right) and the torque from the rip-snorting 15hp outboard meant that it was canted over to one side under full power.
But apart from that absolutely hilarious fun!

Many many years ago maybe 2005/6 my little brothers 13/14 year old best friend was given something similar to this as a birthday present...

Wasn't a seadoo but similar in style to the above.
A little two man flat bottomed jet boat. Awesome part was that rather than a wheel it had a joystick.
You could literally make it spin on the spot. I was told at the time it was pretty swift as well.
Looked really well made too. Sadly cant find anything online.

Water trials are imminent!
He bought it minus the engine because the seller wanted it for something else. He told him it was mental with a 10hp 2-stroke but it'll take a 15. He's been struggling to get an engine because they don't make the 2 strokes any more due to emissions and the 4-strokes are too heavy.
He's managed to get hold of a 15hp Mercury and has just has a new steering arm and transom plate made so when they are fitted it will be ready to go!
