bulk diesel filtration?

maybe an odd place to start this thread, but given there's a lot of marine and oil guys in this forum it seems as good a place as any.
does anyone here have any experience with bulk diesel [or similar] filtration. i'm talking approx. 250l/min for continuous 24/7 operation.
i'm looking into improving a current installation and all i'm finding on the web is info. for truck engines or manufacturer bumf.
i'd appreciate a PM if you might know a trick or two.

A huge container ship only uses 250 tons of heavy a day.
Anyway for bulk filtering we either used a big duplex filter so you could swap from one filter to the other so you could pull the element and clean it

or if you want to remove everything including water then you are looking at a big centrifugal separator

We used to have 3 elements
2 in use and one being cleaned and changed them over once a day as we used metal filters and a ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning the cack off.
What is your storage tank set-up?
We had the bulk tanks which were then pumped into one of 2 settling tanks via course duplex filter which was about a days worth. It sat in the settling tank for a day and it was then manually dewatered by draining the tank from a cock right on the bottom. Then the separator sucked from the day tank and pumped it into the day tank. This removed water and cack. then from the ay tank it was feed to the engine fuel pumps via a fine duplex filter.
The other thing that surprises me is you are using diesel oil in a power plant. We ran on heavy and most large diesel should be able to run on heavy which is way cheaper

there is no standard set-up, hence this project. it's normally a client supplied bulk tank [upto 1m litres] or smaller transportable units chained together on a common link pipe. some of the ops guys have rigged up an adhoc system using settling tanks and manually dewatering, but it's a faff to do so at present.
centrifugal seperation is my no.1 choice but i can't find much in the way of practical info. local suppliers won't be much better informed than i am, i know that much!

What i would do is get a 40foot container and install a centrifugal seperator in it.
For a centrifugal sepeator you will need a 3 phase power supply, a fresh water supply (for operating water) and a tank for it to discharge sludge into. For the throughput you are looking at you want a self sludging seperator otherwise you will be cleaning it out on a daily basis.
If you set your container up well you could easily use it at another project, combine it with a transfer pump and a couple of duplex filters and you have a mobile fuel treatment and handling system.
I have seen mostly alfa laval kit and it is first class.
