While there is no real topic to this thread other than Duxford, I was there a few weeks back looking at the B52. The panels on the nose make it looks like the front is sagging under its own weight. Does anyone know if thats likely or any other reason ?

Land Warfare was the only building we didn't get into, on account of it was coming down like stair rods and my 7 month old and 2 year old were getting rather damp. Another time.

Some very cool planes there. SR-71 definitely a highlight for me though.

You mean the skins a bit rippled? that'll happen with an aircraft that age and a few heavy landings here and there

The ripples appeared on B-52s fairly early on in their careers. It obviously wasn't a problem.

The example at Duxford is a D model and last flew about 30 years ago.

Apparently the dust from the concrete roof of the AAFM is corroding the B-17 quite badly hence the need for conservation.
