OK, here's one to kick off. Hamster was going on about not having any electrical equipment fwd of the bridge. How true/important is this, given the fact that the ship has it's own equipment there?

Thinking about it, I guess the ship's own equipment & systems are all supressed, bonded, earthed etc...?

Dedicated smoking rooms inside the accommodation.

Normally the bar.

About 4% depending on many factors but it isn't lost it's burned in the boilers.

Total rubbish from the hamster.

All non approved electrical equipment is banned.

Approved equipment must either be built to contain any gas explosion inside the casing or be air pressureised to prevent gas entering or be of low energy to prevent sparks.

The gas comes on about -160 in a liquified state. It's kept that way due to insulated tanks.

Watch these, they're good:

I used this one in a presentation about public misconceptions of LNG:

This one makes you wonder why they bother banning smoking on board:

The B Class boats were sheds when I was on them 10yrs ago! Still, for 1970s constructed boats its quite surprising they are still going at all!
Still going on everyday, which isn't bad for 40 year old ships

When you fill the tanks do you have a 'Pay At Pump' option?

And is it always broken so you have to queue up behind bds doing their weekly shop?

I've only got to buy another 10,000 tonnes of fuel before I get the crystal decanter set
