A job well done.

I know which one I'd rather have in the RN, even if it was a smaller version to fit our harbours, it'll still look a thousand times better than the QE class. I'm all for the RN getting good ships, but bloody try to make them look good, not some lash-up. If something looks good, it generally is good.

Although there seems to be comparrisons in the aircraft topic, I thought I'd better put this one in it's rightful place. HMS Illustrious passes USS Forrestal in Mayport, Florida

Yep,
agree with the comments on the QE class, but they'll be very good ships when they enter service, even if they are F'ugly and still have STOVL and a Ski Jump!
(I can't figure out how to put Emoticons in here)
It would be nice for the navy to have some good ships but I don't for a minute think they will be built which is sad.agree with the comments on the QE class, but they'll be very good ships when they enter service, even if they are F'ugly and still have STOVL and a Ski Jump!

Next gov will scrap them
I don't think they will (IMO), the Tories hold our Armed Forces in higher esteem that the current crop of crooks. Plus the RN need them, our current CVS's are way past their sell by date.
We've already started building some of the blocks, the first one was completed last week (or the week before) and with the amount of money aready spent it would be a brave politician to scrap them (all IMO of course).

Oh I agree with everything you are saying but I still can't see them going ahead. We've already started building some of the blocks, the first one was completed last week (or the week before) and with the amount of money aready spent it would be a brave politician to scrap them (all IMO of course).
Wait for the its a labour overspend misguided project line..
Its already been delayed by this government.
Also how many ships do you need around/to support a carrier aren't the american battlegroups about 25 ships??? I'm not sure the RN has the 50 ships to provide two battle groups or similar??
