Should wheel the gun down the hill and fire it outside her place until she fks off. Who would buy anywhere on/near the mile and then complain about the noise? That's a serious level of fkwittery, like the mouthbreathers who complain about the festival.

Visited East Midlands Aeropark today, where sadly their Vulcan no longer flies - but very impressive to see up close.

No Vulcans fly…
I’m reliably informed by a highly placed source this one will be at RIAT 24….

As i read the article i genuinely thought it was about to say twice a week.

Twice a fking year!
He literally has to make a note in his calender to make sure he's in when it happens.

He's got to be an insider generating publicity for the events.

It’s Southend Airport.

Local residents have been complaining for years especially since it was redeveloped and more flights scheduled. Stobart pushed hard to increase flights and attract airlines with some success. They got respite during covid but now things are slowly coming back. They’ll be pissed now as EasyJet are returning and moving some planes there to resume services.

Resident’s literally back onto the airport and jump on anything that will raise a complaint.

In actuality, they want the airport gone so will continue to complain about every single little thing to try and build a case. The Vulcan is just another thing to add to the list.

It’s a cracking little airport that’s a breeze to use and supports decent jobs in a relatively deprived area but the local, mainly retired residents couldn’t give a st about that want it closed.
To be fair that perhaps makes all this quite reasonable. Southend Airport has developed a lot since I were a lad. Its reasonable for people to want it to remain a tiny little, mostly hobbyists, airfield. (I appreciate that ship has largely sailed.)

Amd if you're campaigning for that I guess you have to complain about *everything* otherwise the authorities can say "Well you don't mind the Vulcan so we can land 30 777's a day.

I live near a tiny airfield. I wouldn't want it developed and commercial jets landing there.

So I've changed my mind. Moving to Southend and enjoying watching Doug Arnold flying about is one thing. Turning it into Heathrow is another.

Southend Airport was the UK's third busiest airport in the 1960's. First generation jet liners and radial engined air liners.

The runway is now longer and the facilities enlarged & modernised but it certainly isn't the third busiest airport in the UK anymore, far from it. Modern 737 is the usual size of airliner and the default flight route is over the River Crouch rather than Southend or Leigh.

Vulcan taxy running days can be counted on one hand every year. So there's no comparison to be made with commercial flights in my opinion.

The person who started this particular complaint doesn't even live that close to the airport.

There was a local resident who complained to the council about noise pollution at Dunsfold Aerodrome whenever Caterham Cars had their Drift and Slalom Days, etc. They pointed out to the council that the complaints were even made on days when published events had been cancelled.

Its about time idiots like this were told in no uncertain terms by those in public office to Foxtrot Romeo Oscar.
The way I read it it is the idiots in public office that have written to the RAF expressing their concerns.

Cannot remember where I read that though, may have been Green politician on Edinburgh council?

But there are people in public office higher up the food chain than councils, that 'should' be telling public officials at the bottom of the food chain lower down the food chain to FRO.......not be dictated to by minions at the bottom.

The problem with public office is some part of it is always 6 months or less away from an election. Even if the ones who should be saying FRO want to, they are so terrified of upsetting anyone they will raise stuff like this on their behalf anyway.

Squeaky wheels always get the oil. If all the people who think k it’s nonsense also wrote to the public office people in the same volume and frequency, the irritating minority would be told to FRO. It’s a poor system.

dear God that is depressing! Talk about the fun police frown Imagine living somewhere where the council is that up themselves (in fairness I suspect that most councillors would behave this way if they thought they could get away with it).

The same Councillors who only yesterday decided to put an indefinite hold on a “friendship agreement” with Taiwan after they were threatened with “consequences” by the Chinese representative to Scotland. They bleat on about the environment, but will genuflect to China and increasing tourism when it suits them. Idiots.

Have you ever worked in local authority? Managers who don’t support you, members of the public who raise vexatious demands and go to their councillor who bows to members of the public in case they don’t vote at next elections and demands that your manager do something about it.

The most frustrating job I have ever hadbangheadbangheadbanghead
