Horrible Crash - A41 Hemel Hempstead

Got caught in the mayhem this morning. 10 vehicle pile up apparently between Hemel and the M25.Police ended up turning us round and sending us the wrong way back up to the Hemel junction.
Still shut now. Must be really bad, can only feel for those involved

It was closed when I went to Chipperfield for lunch at 12.30pm and remained that way for most of the afternoon.

I didn't know anything about this. Thankfully I must have literally just missed it. I was on the A41 heading to the M25 about 9am yesterday morning. Was caught up in the usual traffic queues caused by the M25 roadworks but nothing worse. This accident sounds awful.

I'm afraid it was a horrible incident, my heartfelt sympathy to all those involved or affected by it.

However, the tanker driver most certainly WAS NOT to blame - he was sitting in the lay-bay enjoying a break when the incident spilled over from the main carriageway, vehicles being propelled into the rear of the tank. I know this to be so, as I was sitting in my truck, some ten yards in front of the tanker, also taking a break.

Please, unless you witness events yourself, do not post 'Chinese Whispers' - I'm sure the tanker driver had a bad enough day as it was.
