In case you haven't been over in a few weeks, pretty much all the free spaces are changing to pay spaces from the start of Feb!

So, check before you walk off and leave your car smile

Always love coming to MK to shop, not in the least of the free parking...

There is zero free parking in MK from now on it would seem that most motorists are getting shafted in MK now for a town designed solely based on the car to get around this is just the council cashing in and milking the motorist for all it can get with the excuse of improving public transport which in MK is really just a total farce as they have scrapped numerous bus routes around the city.

minimum charge around the centre MK is now £1.20 per hour all day.

Parking around the station is now £7 a day on a council meter or in the netwwork rail car park it is £8 per day and these meters are the only meters you can use between 0700hrs and 0830hrs as all the others have restrictions as the meters are not functional at these times and will not allow you buy a ticket thus if you park you get a ticket.

Parking around MK is begining to get to the stage of being annoying to the stage of making me angry with the council, something has to give sooner rather than later

Just as bad in Aylesbury.

We popped over on Saturday night and having built a new Theatre they are in the process of knocking down one of the multi story car parks.

I parked in the Friars Square one at the weekend and it was £3.60 for 3-4 hours! Also it closes at 7pm so i've no idea where they expect you to park if you're going to the cinema etc. If I remember correctly it was £1.20 for an hour!

We normally park in Debenhams at MK - £1.20 for up to two hours.

Does this include the car parks going down the hill from John Lewis towards the temporary coach station? Very well located for both The Centre and Willen Lake.

I don't think they have meters in them as yet. as they come under campbell park rather than CMK.

This is the new parking map. Apparently the Theatre District multistorey is free for the next six months though...

Remember that if you are a MK resident, you can buy a Commuter Permit from the council that allows you to use the £7 per day spaces for around half price - currently the permit is £69 per month.

Although don't get me started on the fact that the permit was about half that price around a year ago, and they have reduced the number of spaces where the permit can be used, mainly to allow for the spaces for dodgy taxi drivers to stop and have a wk while waiting for customers to arrive!!

Is it wide enough to get cars in now though? Been years since I went in there

Easy way to get around this, park in Conniburrow or Bradwell Common for free and walk over one bridge to get to the city centre.

Personally I don't think 30 pence per hour is unreasonable, however £1.20 per hour adds too much to the cost of a shopping trip. Half the reason for using the free spaces alongside Campbell Park is that they are about as close as most of the chargeable spaces but I can actually find an empty space.

If the weather is poor I will often drop the family outside John Lewis to get started then park at my leisure and actually enjoy a few minutes peace & quiet whilst I catch up with them.

Yeah I used to use them too however they have removed over 50% of the parking bays in the station square they are now eith for taxi muggers or 15 min max stay and no return in 2 hours and all are permanently empty.

Then Netwrok rail close 50% of the long stay parking places while building their new HQ on the hockey stadium site this reduces parking spots straight away.

Additionally what really gets me goat is the fact that the Council wont let you buy those permits online yeah you can send in a cheque with the form but come on who uses cheques nowadays this is ancient also they now want ID to prove you live in MK.

Not being funny but MK is a commuter town whether you like it or not and at early hours of the morning the transport system just dont function so there is no real alternative for the personal car to get into the station and then to get on the long stay meters you need to be in there before 630 in the morning in the station square and this is getting really silly now considering MK always marketed itself as free parking in MK it just sucks
