PH Help!? Anyone got a car trailer I can borrow?

Dear PHers! Can anyone help?

Before Christmas my 2003 e39 530d auto suffered a full gearbox failure (which I now know is notorious ). I had the AA take it to my usual garage, A1BM in Stevenage for investigation but the box is shot and needs a full refurb.

I have found a reputed place to take it in Acton but the AA won't take it down. At the time of year when one is postively awash with spare cash, this is going to cost quite enough to fix at some £1700 so I really could so without spending yet more money getting a recovery.

So, does anyone local have a car trailer I can borrow for a day to do it myself?

Thanks. I have spoken to the Welham Green branch as that's a touch closer to me. But it's still another £70 I would rather avoid!
