Went there a few years back for a mates "last supper" before he got married and I was very impressed.

Agreed, allways good there - Bollywoods round the corner is not so good for foodn but the atmoshpere late on when the 80s music gets turned up can be fun. Danced on tables there a few times.

For the best 'spicey food' though, head to Baan Thitaya in Hertford or the one in Stortford - utterly superb Thai food, better than everything I've had outside of Thailand itself.

I used to go to K2 when I was working from Viking House in Hemel. Used to go for the office curry friday lunchtimes occasionally. Mind you it wasn't the curry that was the problem, more the two bottles of Cobra and then trying to talk to a customer afterwards. Very naughty. I think the food was ok then but I'm rather dubious of currys. They're always a good idea at the time.

The Olive Limes in Tring is excellent

Also the Verandah in Berkhamsted is a notch above most.

The K2 is brilliant at times though.

i live just around the corner from verandah and i have eaten there a few times. i would rate it as average. i walk / drive past there a lot and it is never ever busy. new akaash which is near there is an old school curry house is always a lot busier. i find that better but it is still not the place i am looking for.
anybody suggest anywhere else?

Best place we've found for miles around is 'Bengal Spice' in Hemel. Sublime and we've been going every week for the last five years or so. Tried all the other usual suspects round here (Verandah, Curry Garden, Olive Limes, Akash, Taj Mahal, etc) and whilst some of them are very nice, none of them comes close to Bengal Spice!
