Has anyone ever been down and had a wander at the Goat meet First Sunday of the month.
Apparently this has been going on for over 30 years ?. I'm popping down there in my car in an hour or so for a reckie.

Today the weather here isn't really up to a proper family day out so tomorrow looks better for a trip to Woburn. I have wanted to take a look at this for a few months now and Spring seemed to be the time.

Yep = been a few times while out on a run when I had my VX.

Some lovely cars there and everyone is very friendly and more than prepared to have a chat.

Although, I'd hazard a guess and say that if the weather is rubbish, then that may impact the number of cars attending.

I'll have a dig round to see if I can find any pics of it.

Doh! Missed it again...

I keep meaning to go. I went a few times as a kid. Haven't been in nearly 20 years.

Wasn't it organised by Rod Leach (of Nostalgia/AC Cobra fame) originally?

LO, I claim no knowledge of this chap by name
BUT , One of the folk I went to the meet with who is a neighbour of mine , pointed out a man in a Cobra and said " go and ask that guy if his car is a kit car it'll wind him right up "

I replied with a wry smile as he knows im not actually stupid or gullable
and I belive he may be the man you are talking about smile

Cheers

I think the informal pull up and park on a village green aspect made it one of the nicest classic car meets have been to along with the variety of cars old/new/cheep and expensive.

I intend to be there next time in the Black 944 Turbo so please make a point of saying hello. If you can turn up in a Porsche all the better of course spin

This looks like a pretty chilled out meet, was planning on going to the next one but just realised it will be the 2nd of May which is the same as the Spring Car Show at Duxford.
PH East Anglia have a presence there, so will have to decide which to go to, maybe The Goat and then a good drive over to Duxford! smile

Is it me or are they being borderline cheeky :P , I'm going to Hertford Heath tomorrow with the family and some friends and was confused by you saying its on the same day as Duxford since I knew P.C.G.B would be at Duxford on Monday not Sunday.

Having checked their website I see you a quite right but there are two car shows ( seperately named anyway) at Duxford on the same weekend. I know a lot of car clubs are going on the Monday to the 'classic' car show and many of the cars on Monday will be modern cars. Very confusing and maybe one too many car shows ?.

Cheers

Mas

Mas, what's the show on Monday? The only show for the weekend on their website is the Spring Car Show tomorrow (the 2nd May).
The weather is looking typical for a bank holiday and its usually windy enough at Duxford.
Suppose to brighten up in the afternoon so might end up getting the car out for a few dry miles. smile

Oh f *#@@ , I havn't read it properly the Monday one is in August B***~ h~~~
I must be going senile. I shouldnt be allowed out on my own.

Can I get away with saying my 5 year old logged on and made the last post ?
or should I maybe claim I was drunk ?

I was on my way down to Hertford later this morning and then on for an Indian !
but as it happens my boy has developed a bad case of croup in the night so it seems I may be in for not too much at all this weekend.

laugh I sometimes do the same after Googling an event and then realise I was looking at the page for 2008 or 2009!
Staying in is looking like the best option anyway, hope the little'n is ok and let's hope the weather's better for the meet in June.

One visit to the out of hours doctors at Hertford and some Banana flavoured syrup , so we'll see how that goes. Our friends still took their 911 to Hertford Heath as far as I know and they had a curry in Hertford Town to finish things off. A place called Bombay Spice that they highly recommend.
I stayed in looked after my older boy and got bored s****less watching ghostbuters 2 , how bad is that film.

Wheni Iused to go, I turned up at 12 and it was just about O.K round the green so I'd say defo before 12 but not much before if it was me. Sadly I dont have a classic car at the mo to take as I sold my last 944 Turbo, I might be tempted to go for a nose though since its a Sunday :P

I hope you enjoy the visit and please post up how you get on !

Regards

Mas
