Roads around Amersham and Chesham
Discussion
I drove from Bristol to Berkhamsted (and back) yesterday; the satnav took me up the A335 through Amersham and Chesham due to problems on the normal M25 route.
Have the Bomb Squad been practicing with the roads through these two places? The craters and potholes in the roads are horrendous. It's not too bad in daylight as you stand a chance of steering around them, but on a wet and dark evening in traffic things, are more difficult.
I don't think that I have ever seen through roads in the UK in such a state. Brother in law who lives up that way says that the roads have been like this since last winter (08/09), not as a result of the recent frost and snow.
What's the story behind the lack of action by the local authority/highways department?

Sounds like a challenge to St.Albans highways department. I would put my money on these monkeys creating the best potholes. Come to St.Albans for a comparison, but don't forget to bring a soft cushion on your seat and the phone number of your preferred wheel repairer.Have the Bomb Squad been practicing with the roads through these two places?
