loosing the will to live here. every day 45m-1 hour 30 wait in the traffic lines, several times a day. Some plonker has put in temporary lights with absolutely no idea how to program them.

They seem to be rather random - I frequently travel accross the A120 at the Lttle Hadham lights when travelling from Much hadham up to Albury - sometimes they are real quick, other times I can sit for 15 mins - which is how long it always was when the permanant lights were working.

If you let me know where you coming from and going to I should be able to offer a 'back door rat run' route which avoids those queues!

Thanks for the offer, but I know the back routes well, but the weather in the past week has not made them a viable option!

My 'enthusiast car' is a Black Porsche 944 Turbo but sadly I commute in a Green Volvo D5 and have a green T5 with an obvious 'dog' number plate for a decent but fun family car. :P

Rear wheel drive 944's may be fantastically balanced country road cars but they don't do snow covered tracks like the one I live on so I am suffering at the mo.

I like a 350Z great 'enthusiasts car' , I'll keep my eyes open !

Check out my cars bloggy page if you're at a loose end

Thanks for the warning.

How much extra time do I need to allow when I take my daughter to Stansted next Wednesday?

Will be hitting Hadham at about 9am.

Cheers

Gaz , the roads here are totally clear at the mo and as for rush hour traffic/lights you wont have any real problem there in that direction at 9AM. Snow is predicted for Wed/Thu but not before but what do they know lol. I take it you will be comng along the A120 itself from the A10 not through Much Hadham and turning right ? , along the A120 has priority and wont really trouble you at 9AM. If you are coming from Much Hadham and turning right thats a different matter as clearly us village folk dont matter to the powers that be.

And Mr Ham :P you were spotted this morning by Mrs Mas who was in the T5. You were just leaving home in the big black beasty with the family

Cheers Mas

/\ Ah, thanks. I assumed it was a problem with all traffic at the lights, didn't realise it was just the locals trying to get out onto the main roads.

That's ok then winksmile

Would give a bit of spare time, although the temporary lights that prompted my first post have now gone, the normal lights and queues are very unpredictable. 9am is not a safe time, yes it may well be clear but it could just as likely be backed up 2 miles as well. If the lights are working correctly though, the A120 flows do move pretty fast despite the tailback as the green phase is a long one.
