Post war steam world record speed giant Sir Nigel Gresley loco at Royston on Sunday
"The great steam locomotive Sir Nigel Gresley will be passing through Crow country on Sunday. In fact it is scheduled to stop at Royston Station in the morning.
The steam engine still holds the post-war steam speed record of 112mph set on May 23, 1959, descending southward from Stoke Summit. The engine in fact exceeded 100mph twice on the same day.
This Sunday Sir Nigel Gresley 60007 will be pulling the Christmas Fenman from King's Cross to King's Lynn and passing through Stevenage at 12.18pm, Hitchin at 12.11pm and at Royston it will stop at 11.28am and depart at 11.49am."
Knowing PH I thought a few of you train fans might be in the area and would like to see it
