Any canoeists around? Anyone know of local clubs etc?

I'd like to have a go at canoeing and wondered if anyone could recommend any clubs or locations in the area (particularly South Herts or North London)?

I'm trying to introduce the OH to watersports and we both enjoyed hiring a Canadian canoe up in the Lakes at the weekend, but neither of us had much of a clue what to do with it. The idea is initially to get a bit of experience and some coaching in with an open canoe for lakes and rivers.

I was thinking about learning just over the last few weeks. I found this the other day, though it's a little out of your way but it doesn't look at all snooty.
