hi chaps,

looking for very picturesque, scenic roads near Amersham/chiltern Hills

ideally, roads need to be in a valley or a descending road so when you photograph you get the hills in the background

any help appreciated

Try the road from the Chiltern hospital off the A413 through to Terrick via Checkers. Or from Wendover, A4011 to Aston Clinton then back down Dancers end.

have a look at Aston Hill, behind Aston Clinton. Scene of hill climbs a 100yrs ago. There is a small plague adjacent to the road, nr the carpark, as testimony to the car bearing the same name.

Anywhere near Dunsmore and Little Hampden are also worth exploring.

Just been down the road from hughendon valley to speen. Nice deep valley and green slopes all round.
Speen village hall has a small car park with what looked like a nice backdrop.

chiltern Hills - overlooking Stokenchurch - you will see a massive houe there (Wormsley Park) owned by the late Sir Paul Getty, the oil billionaire. Stunning views and good walking route there!
