I find the Five Bells yo-yo's a bit in service/quality.

My recommendation would be this

In nearby Mentmore, about a five/ten minute drive and well worth it.

Very nice and part owned by Mark Webber.

I know the ex-restaurant manager very well (used to work for him once), he's at the Hunt Hotel in LB now.

il Maschio can be a bit pricey depending on what you order though.

If you just want good pub grub/bar food The Cock at Wing is very good.

The LB Railway is a bit odd - ok if you like seeing the back of people's fences!

I've not eaten at The Stag but it's reputation is very good.

Can I suggest either The Boot in Soulbury or La Collina @ The George Inn, Little Brickhill

I've also eaten at The Five Bells, we had a couple of burgers off the Bar Menu and they were very nice.

Had a couple of nice meals in there so it's a good choice.

To throw a spanner in the works you could try the Three Locks just down the road.

The venue is lovely and the menu has a good range but it didn't seem to be that cheap! (Burgers starting at £10 etc).

Two pints of beer was about £6.50 when we popped in after a bike ride
