Next Saturday, it's my children's primary school fete. One thing we're trying to do this year is have a display of a few cars to give something other than the usual kids games for people to look at. We're running a little competition, probably around people having to get the age of the car (plates will be taped) and the winner being whoever gets most cars right. For this to work, I need a mixture of cars, any type - eg classic, sports, US etc.

So, the favour is, are any of you free, have an interesting vehicle and wouldn't mind it being parked up with people allowed to walk around it (signs can say 'don't touch' etc). The cars would need to be there from 10:30 am until around 3:30. They'll be plenty for the family to do if you want to bring them along.

The school is in Welwyn Garden City.

As I run the bar, they'll also be a free beer or two on offer(or soft drinks!).

Feel free to PM me or reply here

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hey,

Sounds pretty good. Can you tell us where the cars will be parked (i.e. on car park / solid ground or on a field, etc)? Some of our cars can be pretty low and if it rains we could get stuck (plus would make a massive mess on the field).

This week looks like it's going to be a washout, so I will have to get back to you. How many cars do you ideally need?

Also, a lot of our cars are our total pride and joy. It'll be great to see kids possibly sitting in them getting pictures (if owners want to allow this), however there comes a point where too much attention might have a detrimental effect (i.e. a million kids and parents walking around touching and possibly scratching them by accident). Any thoughts on what to do about this? I think sticking a sign saying "please do not touch" with area taped off might be a good idea (like in car shows) and if a kid REALLY wants to have a picture the owner could let them have special access.

Certainly signs shouldn't be a problem and I can check to see if we can rope the cars off some how. They will be parked on the playground so no problem with getting stuck on the playing field! Can you let me know more about what cars you have and what you'd be prepared to bring. Your profile is a bit new to let me guess wink

Thanks for the offer and I look forward to hearing more.....

I have a Nismo 350z and the weather is starting to look good for saturday. The only problem seems to be the lack of cars - have you heard from anyone else? eek
