Does anyone know if Superkarts closed has closed for good or whether its due to illness?
Sign out the front saying something along the lines of 'Due to unforseen circumstances this track is closed'. Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

same here, turned up yesterday and the doors we're closed with the sign up. Its a shame that they didnt call us (had pre-booked) to tell us not to come.

That's a little bit short sighted by them. If they had any business sense they'd have phoned up, so you have to presume it's closed for good.

We had wondered if HSE had been involved somewhere.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy the circuit off them?!? scratchchin

I learnt to race at Superkarts, so many happy memories there, all quashed by the arrogant self obssesed up their own a***s Health And Safety wkers :angry:madmadmad

Never killed me in the 14 months (twice every week) I went there as an 8 year old before I went outdoors, and my lungs weren't properly developed! rolleyes

Sad day, watch others follow suit frown

I feel the same, me and the boys from work always had a laugh there. Never much smoke around. Always smelt nice though.

It was the first kart track i went to 17yrs ago, then it closed down for a few years before reopening again. I suspect (and hope) it'll open again in the near future as its a much better layout then Caxton, pplus its closer to my little cousin who i was teaching to race.

What do we think of the kart track at M.k? Is it as good as Letchworth?

Daytona is way better than Letchworth IMHO, though they're not really comparable being tarmac outdoors vs indoors.

OH no!! I was literally just about to book a group for letchworth :-( Great track, just a shame about the reliability of karts the couple of times I've been there. MK daytona track is horrid in my experience.

I used to work at Superkarts Letchworth and i'm still alive. Used to come home reeking of the place though so perhaps it's no bad thing that the HSE has got involved.

I'd recommend this place http://www.klubkartracing.com/karting_track.html if you're not overly keen on Caxton.

I used to race in the karting club they ran there, It's a shame because i also learnt to race there and still went there frequently, was very dissapointed when i found out it was closed. Hopefully it will open again in the future. It did smell a bit but its not racing if you don't smell like petrol after though.
