Be careful of Glassman he appears very friendly ......but in fact he supports Arsenal, which is frowned upon in these forums.

Welcome by the waybiggrin

Ah the Arsenal, well, my middle and youngest child support them, eldest supports NUFC, myself, I'm doomed to a life of carrying a cross as a life-long, ex-shareholding SAFC nut.

Mind you, could be worse, my wife supports Hartlepools....

Hello.
wavey

May have seen you about.

I quite often head up towards the Hadhams to excercise my tiv (dark blue S3). That road to Bishops Stortford is a cracker!

Indeed it is Chris, and we may well have come across each other - I know taht road real well and tend to 'progress' if I get the chance and traffic allows. I drive (for the next week at least)an '06 350 Roadster in blue. I'll be driving a new 350 Coupe in Silver from next week though. Give me a wave next time!

The twisty road is falling apart however, thanks in main to those damn trucks ferrying muck to the new 9H golf course at Great Hadham. There are a number of craters appearing between the golf course and Stortford.

I've seen a few 'offs' on that road too - typically at either end of the straight that runs past the entrance to The Jobbers Wood High School sports grounds... last one was just before Christmas and was a late model Celica, on its side with a fella in a suit standing by it looking rather bemused.

I know the corners and straight bit of road you are talking about - nice in the dry!

The bit by the golf course is indeed becoming pot holed and very muddy.

The road from there up to Green Tye and onto Storford is also a nice scenic bit of tarmac.

Welcome to the site. I do love those 350's, so will keep an eye open and see if I spot you around. I'm in Potters Bar and am normally all over the Herts area's from one time or another.

Yep, last time I went along there the frost still hadn't cleared - couldn't keep it in a straight line at 20mph in 3rd. Those conditions rapidly lost their novelty value but that road is good. Any others you can recommend? Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Will keep an eye out!

Try the road running up to Albury and out into the Pelhams from the Little Hadham traffic lights on the A120 (i.e turn right at the lights where the road goes down to one lane/crosses the little bridge if you're travelling from Stortford direction. Good fast road, some challenging bends, not too bumpy, and there's the Catherine Wheel in Albury which is always worth stopping at for refreshments...

Thanks, will check that out the next time I'm in the area.

The B1004 from Ware is quite fun in places too - that's how I first stumbled upon the Hadhams.
