Does anyone know what that was all about? The first report I heard on the radio was a van on fire then BBC said a serious accident closing it in both directions with fallen power cables between Eaton Socon and Eaton Ford. The only power cables I can think of are the pylons at ES yikes

I crept my way through Lt Paxton and past the station but it was funny watching the SatNav brigade trying to use the little lane up to Hail Weston, Flood signs and all - I don't fancy their chances at the ford!!

that explains why it was pretty clear down from Baldock then - until just south of the Hatfield tunnel where rubber necking looks to have caused a Saab to get tail-ended by an Escort rolleyes

Aha. Ta. Let's hope they move the cable out of the way in time for going home! Shouldn't be too hard once they pull the plugrolleyes

(it's still shut now...after a 06.00 accident and no serious injuries)

As I popped out of Gorden Road to go up Priory Hill, I suddenly had a horrible thought that Mill Lane would be shut due to the river. The queues south this morning went to the Lt Paxton slip road but everything in that area was stationary - the town must have been gridlocked!!
