Classics on the common 08 WHEN?
Discussion
TT That sounds a bit sad for a bunch of car enthusiast's, I would have thought any car of interest old or new would at least be made welcome. Car snobbery, I hope there aren't too many PHers like that!
Just out of interest what were the other cars you were with? Sounds like it should be anoraks on the common

Yeah, not sure i'll bother taking my car this year after the idiot on the gate - Still go for a look around though as it's a good event and 1 min from my place!
Cars were an Elise, Chimaera, Ferrari 308?, Ferrari 575.
The organiser was really happy for us to go along and welcomes both classic and interesting modern sports cars. The event is advertised as being for cars older than 20 years, but the organiser welcomes interesting modern cars.
Just a shame when we turned up that the idiot checking tickets on the gate made a comment along the lines of 'what are these rubbish cars doing here'

Don't take my comments the wrong way, it's still a very nice way to spend a summer's evening. Although, like Tim, I think I may find alternative transport this year and have a few more beers than usual.
Our fellow COTC goers seem to appreciate all the cars that turn up, modern or not, so I shouldn't tar the event with the attitude of a single marshal.

Sorry, I just re-read your comment, just a sarcy comment from a marshal, typical there is always one. I may still take the Radical as most people seem happy to see it.Our fellow COTC goers seem to appreciate all the cars that turn up, modern or not, so I shouldn't tar the event with the attitude of a single marshal.

Careful as I doubt you'll be able to get the Radical into the carpark, let alone onto the field. It gets pretty cut up, particularly if the weather isn't great. You might end up ploughing the common.[/quote
I have got a Defender but not as much fun unless the ground is really bad.
However the Rad does get over all the speed humps I've encountered. Don't know if you are familiar with Brooklands drive in LB but it clears all of those without touching.
Thanks for the warning though.
