Hi all

Anyone used an auto gearbox specialist in Herts that they could recommend?

My sister has a Quashqai which is 7 years old, c 42k miles where the gearbox is faulty and I'm looking to get it diagnosed and repaired.

Thanks

Japex Kings Langley. A top Japanese specialist and they boys there don’t charge stupid money for a quality job.

Ouch. That sounds like the CVT transmission that's had a chequered history of expensive failures, often put down (by Nissan) to not keeping up with regular fluid changes.

Advice seems to be that as soon as it starts making strange noises it needs to be fixed immediately. Apparently there's a crucial bearing that wears out and it's essential to get it replaced before it shatters and the fragments trash the whole transmission.

Definitely a job for someone familiar with the subject. Good luck!

Stuart and Ross plus the team at Japex won’t mess you around and won’t rip you off unlike many other garages.

Cheers.

I'm hoping it's a straightforward and easy fix.

Depending on which end of Herts you are, just north of the border you have A1 transmissions in Biggleswade, they're a well regarded AT specialist who diagnose, repair, service and rebuild trannies.

NB they are called A1 due to their proximity to the A1 road, not because of the old telephone directory means of getting more business!
