Are Finishline still the best Bodyshop in the area ? Never used them but remember they’ve always been spoken of highly on here

They did my Skoda Karoq bonnet last winter after the wife managed to put a series of deep scratches in it (don't ask!) and they did a very good job at short notice.

PS They had a nice Lambo in for a complete front-end respray.

It’s been a while since I used them but that’s because I haven’t needed to, not because I’ve gone elsewhere. OP if you’re not too far away, go and have a chat with Chris who runs it. Should help you decide.

Thanks, I spoke to Chris yesterday. Think I’m going to go with them.

They resprayed a car for me about 5-6 years ago. The finish was OK, but the process overall not up to the level I expected for the price paid (about £7k at the time, so far from a cheap blow over), and their supposedly stellar reputation. I've since had better paint done with less headaches, and for a lot less money at various other shops.

There were some careless mistakes and the car went back 4 or 5 times for snagging issues. They did get the car about 95% there in the end, so I can't knock that...but frustrating when certain issues were definitely avoidable. They managed to damage one of my headlights because it was left off the car to sit in an area full of solvents during prep, so the inside of the lens got pretty ruined. I was replacing them anyway, but i'd have been fuming if it was a brand new unit.

Chris is 100% a nice bloke though, I think the issue is that they are a lot bigger and busier than they were circa 10 years ago when everyone was raving about them... so perhaps attention is lacking in certain areas where things were more controlled and overseen when the business was smaller. I'd probably not use them again, maybe I was just unlucky.

TL;DR, YMMV. Go in eyes open. Personally I don't think their pricing reflects the quality of the work in all areas.

I need to get the Bonnet resprayed on my F56 Mini , bird droppings have etched the painted and I have made a horrendous job of trying to fix it. Has anybody used Finishline recently ? Chris has quoted me £900 , for that kind of money I don't want the hassle of endless visits back to sort out problems .

I believe D Isaac was recommended by someone , but Ideally want someone to have used them recently.

Chris stripped and painted my 67 Alfa bonnet 2 months ago. Being red it was a swine to colour match but they did an exceptional job all round. Can’t fault them.
