Interesting things to do to near M25 / M11 junction ?
Discussion
I might be asking the impossible here,
but cultural things like museums, galleries, stately homes etc.
No shopping venues and nothing too chavtastic, please.
I am trying to impress her indoors.
I did look at the De Havilland museum near to South Mimms,
but that's shut until March and we've already done Duxford,
way up the M11. Bletchley Park, MK too far really.

There's the 'secret' nuclear bunker at Kelvedon Hatch - http://www.secretnuclearbunker.com/
If you're feeling a touch energetic, you could try the Olympic White Water rafting course - have done this a couple of times and it's great fun - http://www.visitleevalley.org.uk/en/content/cms/lo...
The oldest log church in the world (I kid you not!) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensted_Church

I was thinking that myself.Secret Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch a cracking day out but
we've done that already. I've checked the subterranean Britain
website (http://www.subbrit.org.uk/) and there's not much
else near.
Cambridge too far. North Weald airfield museum shut for the winter.
Thanks for all your suggestions. The search goes on.

We have a winner ! It was a cracking day out. Free entrance with overpriced drinks and food in the canteen to compensate.
Bring your own flask and sandwiches if you want to save some money.
Park in a nearby sidestreet to save even more on car parking charges, too.
