"On the third weekend in September the Chiltern Hills will reverberate again to the sound of Bikes and Cars thundering up the Kop Hill Climb. This 'must attend' event is now a fixture on the historic motor sport calendar. 400 Bikes and Cars will storm the hill and there will be a further 200 on display in the paddock."

Anyone going or been before?

I'm not far away and so I go regularly;
the selection and quality of bikes and cars in the paddocks is excellent
but I find the hill experience a bit underwhelming.

Mostly veteran cars or some more modern vehicles there too (I can't get the entrants lists on the website to work)?

I am not very far away and this is the first year I have caught the event signs before the event, so as long as the weather is not too bad (better than this weekend), I'll be along.

I've been for the past few years and this year (as per last) will be in the paddock after having organised the RREC space, which we're sharing with the 3 wheel morgan club. Say "hi" if you see me, I'll be in a '64 S3 (silver/ grey). It's great fun and this year is supposedly going to be dry (last year the Sunday was awful, just non-stop rain!)

Last year in the afternoon was horrendous, I went up in the hill in a 1920 Bentley and came down in an ice block

280bhp at the wheels, practically bombproof and one of the most, if not the most travelled classic car in the world

It has been repainted once or twice! Awesome car though. Good for well over 150mph if you are brave enough.

www.globalrally.org.uk if anyone's interested in reading about the places they have been. Apologies for the website that looks like it's been written by a ten year old at school. I have had words about it.

Gawd. I don't know the ins and outs. It's a very special hand built engine that has been continuously fettled, monitored, and modified since it was built in 1999 by Orchard Restorations in Sussex but I'm afraid I don't know the full spec but it is proven on the rolling road!

Interestingly, aside from the odd fuel pump failure (it can alternate between two at the flick of a switch for that reason) it has never broken down in over 200,000 miles of worldwide travel which has included rocks, desert, cold and altitude.
