Unfortunately we will not be able to make this one as the car will be on the GTROC stand at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power on this weekend.

pete, was going to start a thread myself..... this is fathers day, and clashes with dad's day out in dunsfold also.......

also, i have no choice but to be in london this weekend, all non-car related.....

was going to suggest we defer to the 23rd, but this is le mans weekend, and some are going to that.....

what do others think?

Just been in the Fly and seen posters advertising 3rd Sunday meet?

On another note I do not want to start an argument or bad feeling with anyone but I really feel that we need a code of conduct on runs, yesterday got a bit silly in places, cant excuse myself but if one of has an accident God forbid, we will all be in for it.
I know we are not alone, looks like there may have been some similar antics on the DH run as well.

Maybe its time for that track day??

It was a great road up to DH.

Agree, you just have to roll with dates- from now until October there's something on pretty much every weekend. Should be good to come to this, will probably bring the 250.

firstly.... we obviously all adhere to the national and local speed limits.... at all times
secondly... one must all ensure that the convoy remains together, that means the car infront slowing to keep the car behind close rather than visa versa .... this is most important at junctions/in town... mirror, signal, mirror, mirror, then go!!!! often as the lead ca i spend as much time looking back as forwards
thirdly.... one drives within ones limits at all times, which leads onto
fourthly.... the cars and drivers have their own comfort zones, esp for bends..... if you are slower than others, then firstly, stick to the back of the convoy in the first place, secondly, allow others to overtake you when convenient..... some will take a bend 5-10mph faster than another, doesn;t mean they are driving too fast, these are highly capable cars... (this step requires a degree of humility and any ego to be put away, i know barry and tony are accomplished track drivers for example so would expect them to be more capable than me)
and finally.. we respect other road users, and overtake when safe to do so... this can be difficult to judge if you are not driving the car you observe... the owner and driver will know their cars capability to pass a slower car safely

we are driving in a convoy, not in any race, at legal speeds in cars very capable of doing so safefully, so I would not expect any accidents given the rules above being observed....

NO MORE POSTS RE THIS PLEASE.... it will attract unwarranted attention !!!!!! If you feel the need to raise any issues, please PM me with details and I will address, thanks.

I'm planning to be down at Dunsfold both days that weekend. However, if it either rains on the Sunday or if I have had the opportunity to get a run in "my unicorn" on the Saturday I may be there.

If the weather is nice, I'm wondering if it would be a good time to start the charity passenger rides we discussed previously? If so and if it is there, I would like first dibs on a charity passenger ride in the F40 please - if the owner doesn't mind?

[If the above is a 'yes', I'll likely bin Dunsfold on the Sunday regardless or go down after Clophill, if anyone wants to convoy down?]

elms cambridge have a black one in the showroom, next to a e30 m3 ....

daz, don't think passenger rides will work, not even for charity... what if we all want a ride in one car, wouldn'd be fair on the owner.... could do a name out the hat type format, with one lucky winner i suppose...

steve, trackday.... not enough interest and noise levels is a problem. Daz, might be able to involve the s9 crew, but tried before and not much interest TBH... they have IOM, malaga and various other regular trips..

Fair enough Mohan. I was thinking along the lines of an auction-like bidding process. Where the highest bidder gets the ride. Or, if the owner is happy to give more than one ride, the charity benefits more. But we can always leave it to an 'ask on the day and see what response you get kind of thing'.

I'll ask the S9 lot to see if anyone is interested. If there is some interest, I'll do a joint thread to see what numbers we get.
