Hi all,

Just moved into Clophill and looking for a builder to remove some internal walls. They are load bearing so will need structural engineering calcs with steel and building control. Any builder recomendations to do this locally ?

Thanks

Just about to have some commercial work completed, builders, electricians, windows etc I will let you know how I get on.

As a matter of point I last used a guy from Harlington, not sure if it would be right to name him but he was a right crook, went bust on me and cost me a lot.... give me a PM if you want more details.

Thanks for the help. I have found someone if Flitwick who looks to be able to cover what I need. Will give them a call tomorrow to what can be done. Need more than one quote so will use/need the numbers.

Many thanks

BIGGEST ADVICE....NO BIG DEPOSITS....IF THEY CANT FUND THE WORK THEY ARE NOT WORTH DEALING WITH.

Thats where we got caught, are you using the Upton Brothers from flitwick?

Yes no deposits is a very good call. Looking at Steve Downie Builders in Flitwick. I will call a few (on recomendation if possible) to gauge confidence.

Thanks again. Had a visit from a local builder today from Clophill. He does a lot of work locally and has done some work on our house in the past. He was advertised at the lower school as he does some free work for them from time to time. Gave me good confidence (I have a good idea as my family are retired builders), so see what he comes back with. STICKY3, think I saw you in your DB9 last week going through Amptill ?

We had a run in with him too, not sure if he is still trading, used to be based near Harlington church.
