Just got on the M25 this morning at the A1M to head into Essex and saw a sign stating that there's planned roadworks from the 11th February for 2 years.

Anyone know what they are doing? I presume it's road widening.

it's road widening http://www.whtimes.co.uk/news/m25_widening_plans_s...

had a leaflet through my door - apparently they are going to be working on it over night.

I think this is part of an M25 plan, so once done they'll just move on to the next set of junctions.

Oh that's just bloody brilliant. Work commences a month before I start commuting on that stretch of road. frown

I think that the whole northern part of the loop is meant to have been done (widened) by 2016. After that, they'll be starting on the southern part.

So anybody planning to move to Surrey from Herts and use the M25 regularly may want to think again.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping all of the roadworks had finished on my commute after years of having the Hatfield, Belcommon, and Holmesdale tunnels refurbished along with the widening between the M11 and Dartford Bridge on the M25.

Obviously I was wrong
