Huge pot hole in Harpenden!

Drove over (or more like down) the biggest pothole I've ever seen. Did not see it at all as I was struggling to find somewhere to park and it was dark

Just as well I was in the big van. If it had been the car there would certainly have been damage to the wheel.

So, be careful down the high street, or whatever that road through there is called.

There is a huge hole coming into Harpenden by the 1st crossing I noticed on Thursday. The Mazda / Kia end.

I hit it last night in my girlfriends fiesta, she hit it tonight.

There's a nasty one at the roundabout by the Red Cow in Westfield. Coming down the hill approaching the Lower Luton Road. Fell into it while driving the girlfriend's car. She wasn't best impressed.

Saw that pot hole yesterday on the way to the Christmas parade. Thankfully I just managed to miss it. Definately my tyre would have been finished if I'd of hit it and maybe my wheel too!

Its an annual event - last years was bad, but this years is a shocker.

There was a link to report these last year, which seemed to work. Shame is, I don't think their fix is good enough if it comes back a year later!

Pot hole has been filled in over the weekend.

Give it a couple of weeks, it'll be back, I'm sure!

Glad it's not just Surrey CC that does this then.. Fills it in, within weeks it's a hole again.

I can't lie, I had a little chuckle when I saw it, thinking that the contractors must be making an absolute killing!

Saddened that my life has come to this, but I took a pic of this pothole today. I'll take a long hard look at myself over the weekend.

Photo was for one reason only....this was REPAIRED at the weekend and we drove over it last night - check out the state of it already! Surely there's a SOGA infringement here - is 3 days considered acceptable life span of a repair!?

The problem with Harpenden is the sheer volume of traffic for such a small area.

Not sure the council could keep up the pace of repairs before another hole is sprung.

In know way helped by the high % of 2 tonne plus vehicles in the area doing the school run .
