South Herts photo locations
Discussion
Can anyone recommend an interesting backdrop in Hertfordshire (or maybe just into Essex or Beds) to take some static car shots?
I've seen the thread on the St Neots photo wall and that is an option, but I wondered if there was anywhere closer. The Hertford sort of area would be good.
Also, please drop me a line if there's anyone out there who'd be interested in taking some photos next weekend (20/21st Oct). I can't offer any money I'm afraid, but you'd get photo credits and a mug of Starbucks' finest for your efforts.

Depends what kind of shot people are after?
Rural/green/trees & grass?
Or city/urban or derelict/run down?
Well in my case it's a modern hot hatch, so photographic tradition dictates I'd want something quite contemporary. Rural/green/trees & grass?

To be honest, though, I was thinking of anywhere with an interesting back drop that's quiet enough to take some photos without getting in everyone's way.

Ha, fair enough. What car out of curiousity? To be honest, though, I was thinking of anywhere with an interesting back drop that's quiet enough to take some photos without getting in everyone's way.
You could try the Maylands industrial estate in Hemel? A few nice options there I think!!
The arse end of Watford might uncover a few places as well.
For me, I like to just drive around until I spot somewhere that looks good.

It's a Suzuki Swift Sport on this occasion. Next month I've got to go through the same process with a WRX STi.

anyone got any suggestions for a photo location near/around st albans or west of hatfield, backdrop needed for three lime green lamborghini's....[/quote
The St Albans Cathedral ! Hatfield House !
Not convinced that would suit, plus good luck getting shots with no one around. The St Albans Cathedral ! Hatfield House !
70proof, what sort of look are you after? Does it have to be around St.Albans area? If you're willing to travel a little, there's loads of places but again, depends on what you're after.

st albans is convenient for all, as the photo shoot is just part of it, and no one is getting paid, and its not for a mag etc, just for fun... doesn;t have to be st albans, just that ball part... i would say south of luton, north of watford, east of rickmansworth....

Hmm the carpark is to the left in that pic, not sure will give you a good shot of the manor, plus Fishpool Street might be a bit of a squeeze. was thinking of here..... http://www.stmichaelsmanor.com/

the owners will let us over the bridge to get lakeside pics, also there is a driveway along the back of the building where we could park up.... on streetview they follow a tranny van which has loads of room, thanks for the tip though...
