Announced yesterday, they are going to "enlarge" it.
Dear God, I really hope they sort it this time as the last time just seemed to make it worse as the A1 northbound lane became closer to a T junction trying to get across a really fast stream of traffic with very limited visibility. We endured about 18months of road works to have exactly the same result.
How they thought they could make an A1-M1 dual carridgeway link road that just ends in a roundabout I do not know! I did email the HA about it a couple of years ago to ask what their plans were for this shambles and they only had outline plans tied to a possible A428 dualling sometime past 2018....
What are your predictions for this time around?

All they need is a blow torch, tin of paint and 1 hour.
Currently Southbound is 2 lanes - one straight on (no left turn here) the other right only. If they made the right lane ahead/right then then there would be more breaks in the traffic turning right meaning the traffic going north gets more opportunities.
No doubt what they'll do is take 18 moths, spend millions and make no difference whatsoever
