I want to find somewhere around my way (St.Albans/Harpenden area) where I can buy red diesel from.

Is there any (rural) petrol stations or perhaps hire shops etc that sell it?

My online searches only come up with companies that will deliver 200litres upwards at a time, and I dont have the need for that much or the storage facilities

Thanks!

Looking for some recommendations for hire shops/ fuel suppliers that sell red diesel in smaller quantities, ie 25 or 50 litres a time..

HSS Hire advertise it, but there prices aren't much cheaper than petrol station prices for a 20litre drum!!

All the companies that deliver to my area (Hertfordshire) only sell it in barrels of 205 litres and up, and I dont have the storage to buy it in that amount.

Any ideas PH'ers??

Try the truck stop on the A5 just off the M1 Jct 9 towards Markyate.

Last week I drove through looking for V-Power as I remember there being a big Shell garage on that site.
There were definitely pumps labelled Red Diesel but I've never tried or purchased any from them.

They do sell it at the truck stop as the fridge on the trailers use red and my father used to buy his red there for his diggers.

Any harbour or marina. They're termed fuel berths. Easy to search for and find - unless you live miles from the coast of course. Not sure what the deal is on canals.

200 Litres will come in a drum, you can just screw a hand pump on the top of it and it'll keep for an age.

Unfortunately I live in a flat and don't have anywhere the missus will allow a big drum of diesel!!

I only need 20-30 ltres at a time to run my machinery, so bulk isn't ideal smile
