Got a business trip to Geneva this week.

Everyone is telling me that I will be able to pick up a bargain.

Anyone got any ACTUAL experience?

It's a dump and the paninis are over-priced. Other than that, there didn't seem to be an awful lot there (in the ay of watch bargains) when I last passed through (about 2006)...

I walk through there every day. Not the place to buy a watch IMHO.

Are you being merked? The place is a hole and a total stranger to the word 'bargain'.

I think there are only ever a couple of people banging on about it.

I'd expect better duty free watch shopping in Heathrow.

+1 If you are staying in GVA, why not head into town and to a proper watch store like Les Ambassadeurs...? OK, not the cheapest but way better than picking up a watch at the airport.

The girl who runs the AirWatch Centre at the airport is v v knowledgeable and always a pleasure to deal with.

She always has good stock of AP's, IWC's and F Mullers but I always find them quite "full priced". Always good to call ahead and see what she has in stock.

Unfortunately, due to a hectic schedule had no opportunity to have a look round.

In London this weekend and will be doing a bit of window shopping - particularly interested in something second hand.

Anywhere I can go to get a good selection of jewellers in a small area?

Went in a couple weeks ago on a business trip,
The sales girl was all about a Rolex called Tripsy, until I understood it was Deep Sea she was talking about...
She just sold the last one, but pop in next week we'll have another for you, so queing doesn't seem to exist.
Saw the Omega Alaska Project in another store at a fantastic price, CHF 4600 which is about £1000 cheaper than in Sweden!
So pop into town instead!

Old Bond Street or Selfridges watch room cloud9 Good for window shopping but I wouldn't expect a huge discount at either location.
