Impromptu visit to two of Saxony's most famous brands

I happened to be driving through Glashutte today on business and also happened to be sharing a car with a colleague who is massively into watches. We wondered if we would pass by the Glashutte building and lo and behold it was right on the main road so we decided it would be rude not to pop in and say hello as we could spare a few minutes. We parked the car round the corner only to find we were in A. Lange & Sohne's car park! I had no idea they were right next to each other. We popped in and while they told us we couldn't do anything without an appointment they gave us some catalogoes. Glashutte on the other hand brought out its head of PR for us and we were given a personal whistlestop tour of the factory! What an amazing place! Some truly incredible things there and it makes me want one more than ever. Definitely want to go back for a proper tour - it's a must for any horolophile - and also to check out the watch museum round the corner as well. That would be a great holiday, especially as you've also got the stunning local scenery to enjoy. All in all, a top day!
