Q. Am currently on vacation in Singapore and have seen a few second hand Rolex watches for sale down Orchard Rd. Whats the view on the price to pay for a 2004 Submariner Date, Black Dial with date and stainless steel braclet? I think it a Chronometer 1000ft (can't remember).

Price I've been offered is circa 2100 GBP.

Thoughts please.......

Regards

DolphinS3.

The words Orchard Road & Rolex in the same sentance sends shivvers down my spine, can't help you on price advice I'm afraid but FFS make sure it's genuine, they've got some really REALLY good fakes in the back rooms of some of the shops in the plaza.

Agreed - if you have the smallest doubt that it's hookey - walk away.

I'm sure you could get something very close from a reputable dealer in the UK.

I got my brand new 2008 Submariner for £2750. For the sake of £600 its not worth the punt IMHO.

Buy one from Tim or Dee in Chiswick, West London.

You'd bag this one, still under Rolex warranty for £2500.

Don't risk it.

Vesuvious, I take it if you wish you can venture down to their showroom to view/colect etc and its not just mailorder?

I'm currently looking for a Submariner, and their site seems to be one of the most useful around.

Thanks

Hi Adam,

You can't just pop down - you need to make an appointment first (to see either Jon or Tim). It's a pokey little place on the first floor of a Chiswick High Rd building - but totally genuine and reliable. No showroom or display cases, but loads of watches in the safe that they will be happy to show you if seriously interested!

Vesuvious,

thansk for this - prefer appointments - better use of time on boh parts - buyer and seller.

Someone mentioned going to andorra - is that a viable option?

Hi,

I got mine from Ernest Jones in Bluewater- came in by chance, and the buyer changed his mind, so the wife picked it up for me.

Good luck, excellent watch!
