Only 30 to arrive in the UK over the next couple of months, so £8k for a brand new one is not unreasonable, as grey dealers will be selling them in the UK for £8.5k minimum!

Amazing watch!!

8k not unreasonable? for a watch with a retail of 4.5k that probably costs them less than 1k to manufacture?

You idea of unreasonable is a bit different to mine smile looks like a very nice watch but no way I would pay that much over the odds.

One sold on ebay for 6.7k recently. Dont see the DSSD holding much premium if any TBH.

I agree.

Just find it funny that somebody was thinking just a few weeks ago that 8k was bargain for a watch with a retail under 5k. wish I was rich enough to piss 1k up the wall

There are so many nice watches out there that I really do not understand why somebody would pay nearly double retail just to have a Rolex.

as mentioned above get a VC...or GO,JLC,Breguet,Blancpain,Patek phillipe,AP etc etc etc

Problem is, most SS Rolex hold their value, where as a lot of other stuff does not. Take GO for example, lovely watches, very, very well made; but I/you can get 40% off (reasonably easily). So any chump who pays anywhere near asking is going to have a shock when it comes to sale time. A lot of high-end makes suffer the same fate. Rolex tightly control supply and pricing, hence the residuals.

thats a good point UV.

altough in this case it would seem if people have paid 8-10k for one they will take a bath

It wasn't one of their cheaper watches, but the discounts kept on coming. Ask a stealer what they'll pay you for one SH, that should give you an idea of what discounts are available to people in the know.

For what its worth the watch was lovely and really, really, well made. Attention to detail was fantastic, but ultimately the exclusivity wasn't there. I still have their marketing stuff on my sofa and drool through it at least once a week.
