Saw one of these for sale at a high street store the other day, came with a nice wooden box, limited to 1959 pieces. I would have guessed that they would all been sold by now especially being a limited edition watch...any reasons?

Also had a submariner 50th anniversary edition (green bezel) on display if anyone is interested.

A Speedie is a very desirable piece of kit, but at £5500 it is a bit steep for most people.

I think it's the fact that there are so many speedmaster limited editions already and the price is a bit of a pi$$take.

Have one myself and they are expensive assuming you're talking about the non-patch with the enamel dial and the tools, loupe and presentation box.

However I was prepared to buy one just because it was such a beautiful piece.

Other than that I'd probably have gone for a pre-69 vintage.
